Virginia Beach, VA – Invictus law is proud to announce that Shemeka Hankins has been promoted to Partner at our firm. Ms. Hankins has been a valuable member of the Invictus team for five years. She has consistently proven her leadership, work ethic and commitment to this team and most importantly, to her clients.
During her time with the firm, Ms. Hankins has built a reputation as a dedicated and knowledgeable attorney, consistently delivering top-notch client services and communication, as well as positive outcomes. Her expertise and passion for her work in state and federal criminal defense has earned her the respect of colleagues and clients. Ms. Hankins is known for her “get it done” but collegial attitude when working with other counsel. Through her commitment to regular client contact, clients feel she is handling their case with the attention it deserves.
Prior to joining Invictus Law, Ms. Hankins inherited a legacy of community dedication. Inspired by her father’s dedicated service in the US Navy and subsequent role as Norfolk Sheriff’s Deputy, and her mother’s steadfast volunteerism at their church, Ms. Hankins’ passion led her to the Norfolk Commonwealth Attorney’s Office where she honed her legal skills. There, she received advanced training in critical areas such as domestic violence, DUI, and drug offenses.
Ms. Hankins received her Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law and Bachelors of Arts in English and Music from the College of William and Mary. She prides herself on her service to the legal community being involved in numerous organizations such as: the South Hampton Roads Bar Association, the Virginia Women’s Attorney Association, the Old Dominion Bar Association, the Virginia Beach Bar Association, and many others statewide.
